Busy Busy!!

Hello Everyone!!

I just wanted to follow up with you all on what's been happening around here! Last we spoke I told you that Katelyn was going to 20/20 design school training to be able to join Ellen in doing amazing kitchen designs for all our wonderful customers! And today Katelyn sold her first kitchen to two of the nicest people in the world! We couldn't be more excited for Katelyn and also for her customers who are getting an amazing Kitchen!!! Stay tuned for pictures and installation notes!!!

Southampton is started!

We got started on our customers home in Southampton this week! We took out all of the cabinets and counters in his kitchen and yesterday his beautiful new cabinets came in!! I love when people pick special colors for their cabinets it makes the whole process more fun to watch them all go in and take on a life of their own!! I'll keep you posted on how the work goes! And if your lucky I'll even get some photos of the finished work!!

Designing

Last week I had the opportunity to go to design school in Gloucester Mass to learn how to design Kitchens and Baths! It was a great experience and now will be joining Ellen in doing the designs for Kitchen Concepts! I can't wait to get started, come down and be my first Kitchen or Bathroom design!!

What is Quartz?

What is Quartz? Quartz countertops are engineered, but are not considered synthetic due to the high number of natural quartz particles in each quartz slab. A quartz countertop is made up of Quartz Particles, Natural Pigments & Soy-based Resin.

What goes into making a Quartz Slab?

Quartz crystals are ground into small, uniform pieces and particles.  The finer the particles, the more uniform the color on the slab.  The larger the particles, the finished surface will have more depth and sparkle.  Resin is used for binding the materials, and is mixed with natural pigments, along with other materials such as recycled glass, mirror or small flecks of precious metals.  Given the small percentage of resin and fillers used, the end result of the Quartz top is 93% pure quartz.  The finish of the slab is a natural shine and gloss; no finish polish is necessary.

Easy to Care for Surface

It is always recommend to place hot items on a potholder or trivet to prevent any damage.  Everyday spills can be easily cleaned up with warm water and mild dish soap.  For heavy spills, a non-scuff cleaning pad will do the trick!

So over the past few weeks in gearing up for our homeshows I've been doing tons of research on everything we offer and even some things we don't to be able to answer everyones questions. So over the next few weeks I'm going to be taking that information and sharing it with you on here incase you missed us at the homeshow!

Your GRANITE Questions Answered!

How long would I be without a kitchen if I upgrade to granite?

We offer a ONE DAY INSTALLATION! 

You will enjoy dinner in your new kitchen that evening!

I want granite, but it’s just too expensive for me!

Granite is extremely affordable!  Each color is priced accordingly –

and we include the measure, template and install!

How often do I need to reseal my granite top?

There is a test you can do to see if your granite needs to be resealed. 

Let water stand on your counter top for 15 minutes. If the water is still there after that time you do not need to reseal your granite.

I have heard that granite emits radon gas – is granite safe to have in my home?

The EPA does not believe there to be sufficient data existing to conclude that the types of granite, commonly used in countertops, increase indoor radon levels.

Granite is beautiful, but too hard to clean.

Granite is very easy to clean, just a little mild dish soap and warm water will clean up

anything you may spill.

If I put a hot pan on it I’ve ruined it.

Granite has a high resistance to heat and will most likely not be effected by

hot pots and pans, however, it is always recommended to use a trivet or hot plate!

What to get - polished granite or honed granite?

Polished gives off a very contemporary feel and has a shiny appearance.

Honed has a matte finish and would be for someone who wants the natural look and feel of stone.

What’s the life expectancy of a granite countertop?

With proper maintenance and care of your granite countertop it will last a lifetime.

Granite is too busy looking for my taste.

We have a stone for everyone’s individual taste.  Over 30 colors and styles to choose from, there is a color for everyone!

Will my granite counter top chip?

Granite is a very dense material and under normal wear and tear conditions it will NOT chip and/or scratch.
