What is Quartz?

What is Quartz?

Quartz countertops are engineered, but are not considered synthetic
due to the high number of natural quartz particles in each quartz slab.
A quartz countertop is made up of
Quartz Particles, Natural Pigments & Soy-based Resin.

What goes into making a Quartz Slab?
Quartz crystals are ground into small, uniform pieces and particles.  The finer the particles, the more uniform the color on the slab.  The larger the particles, the finished surface will have more depth and sparkle.  Resin is used for binding the materials, and is mixed with natural pigments, along with other materials such as recycled glass, mirror or small flecks of precious metals.  Given the small percentage of resin and fillers used, the end result of the Quartz top is 93% pure quartz.  The finish of the slab is a natural shine and gloss; no finish polish is necessary.

Easy to Care for Surface
It is always recommend to place hot items on a potholder or trivet to prevent any damage.  Everyday spills can be easily cleaned up with warm water and mild dish soap.  For heavy spills, a non-scuff cleaning pad will do the trick!
